Privacy policy
Draft, courtesy translation: Only the German version is legally binding. Please check again before going public. Parts are taken from the privacy policy of danielpugge.de.
1. Privacy at a glance
This site is deliberately economical with data: there is no tracking via cookies or third-party services, no advertising and no content from third parties (no external fonts, scripts, videos or maps). Visitors receive no cookies. There is only a simple, anonymous visitor counter (see below). Links to YouTube are ordinary links: you only leave this site once you click them.
2. Controller
Daniel Pugge, Eichendorffstr. 14, 48612 Horstmar, Germany
Email: info@danielpugge.de
The controller is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data.
3. Hosting
This site is hosted externally by:
Hostinger International Ltd.
61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023
Larnaca, Cyprus
When the site is accessed, the host stores technically necessary server log data (e.g. IP address, time, page accessed, browser type). Hosting serves the interest in a secure, fast and efficient provision of the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement (DPA) exists with the host, which ensures that the data is only processed on our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
Anonymous visitor counter
So that the operator can see whether the project finds an audience, the site counts anonymously how many different visitors came per day. For this, an irreversible hash is formed from IP address, browser identifier and date; it is stored only until the end of the day and then deleted. Only numbers remain permanently (visitors and page views per day). No cookies are set, no IP addresses are stored and no data is passed to third parties; visitors with “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” are not counted. For shared links, only the kind of link (e.g. WhatsApp) through which someone arrived is counted, not by whom. For the “Right now” figure, your browser generates a random number for the open tab, stored only there and gone with the tab; on the server only a hash of it remains for five minutes, nothing else. The numbers (today, right now, week, total) are shown openly in the footer. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in anonymous measurement of success (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Comments
You can write comments and proposals without registering. Your text, an optional name and the time are stored. No email address is requested.
Comments only appear after the operator has reviewed and approved them. Published comments are publicly visible. Please do not include personal data of third parties.
To prevent abuse (spam), an irreversible hash of your IP address is stored for at most 24 hours and then deleted. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Processing your comment is based on your consent by submitting it (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can ask by email at any time for your comment to be deleted; please state where it appears.
Rejected comments are deleted or only kept internally and are never published.
If a contribution is taken up, it may be highlighted on the start page and on the page “What has happened so far”, together with a short note. This only concerns comments that have already been published. If you do not want this, write to us and we will remove the contribution.
Concerns and thumbs up
On the page “What concerns us” you can submit a concern without registering: one sentence about the problem, optionally a text, a topic and a name. No email address is requested. Concerns only appear after the operator has read and approved them, and are then publicly visible. Please do not include personal data of third parties. To prevent abuse, an irreversible hash of your IP address is stored for at most 24 hours and then deleted. On request we will delete your concern: info@danielpugge.de.
With a thumbs up on a concern, an anonymous counter is increased by one. So that nobody counts several times, an irreversible hash of your IP address is stored for at most 24 hours. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the site and in an unfalsified count (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); when submitting, your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
The buttons “I am thinking along” and “This concerns me too”
With a click on “I am thinking along” (start page) or “This concerns me too” (on a question), an anonymous counter is increased by one. So that nobody counts several times, an irreversible hash of your IP address is stored for at most 24 hours and then deleted. No cookies are set. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in an unfalsified count (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
5. Enquiries by email
If you contact us by email, your enquiry including all personal data arising from it (name, enquiry) is stored and processed to handle your request. We do not pass this data on without your consent. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in handling enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or, where a contract is concerned, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Email addresses are never published. The data stays with us until you ask us to delete it or the purpose ceases to apply. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
6. Cookies
Visitors to this site receive no cookies. Only in the non-public admin area is a technically necessary session cookie set after login, which is deleted when the browser is closed.
7. SSL / TLS encryption
For security reasons this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser’s address bar changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol.
8. Your rights
You have the right at any time to free information about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to rectification, erasure and restriction of processing as well as to data portability. You can withdraw consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. An email to info@danielpugge.de is enough.
Right to object: If data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then no longer process the data concerned, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Right to lodge a complaint: In case of breaches of the GDPR you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged breach.
